 The Court is a full service court, exercising jurisdiction to the full extend available under federal law. Services include case filing of criminal, civil, traffic, juvenile matters and appellate matters.




The Rocky Boy's Tribal Court system was established pursuant to Article XII and Article VI, section 1 (p) of the Constitution of the Chippewa-Cree Indians of the Rocky Boy's Reservation. The Tribal Courts shall be a court of general civil and criminal jurisdiction and shall hear appeals from administrative bodies as provided by the Code or Ordinances of the Chippewa-Cree Tribe. The Tribal Court shall provide, by court rule, an appellate court for the review of the decisions of the Rocky Boy's Tribal Court.




The Chippewa Cree Tribal Court is overseen by the Judicial Commission. Members of the Judicial Commission are appointed to four-year terms by the Chippewa Cree Tribal Business Committee to oversee operations of the Tribal Judicial Branch.
